BC Naturalists’ Foundation

The BC Naturalists’ Foundation is a registered charity formed in 1990 by members of the Federation of BC Naturalists.  Its purpose is to build a strong capital base, the future income which provides a steady source of funds for conservation and nature education. The primary purpose set out in the Constitution is to promote the preservation of the natural environment for future generations through conservation, education and research projects.

What does the Foundation do? The Foundation concentrates its efforts on building and managing its endowment fund to financially support BC naturalist initiatives.  Annual grants are provided to BC Nature for the conservation and education projects of naturalist clubs.

How is the Foundation managed? BC Nature appoints members to the Foundation for three year terms, nominations for Directors are made from that list. The Board meets twice a year, either in person or by conference call.
