Education is a primary goal of BC Nature and we offer a number of educational opportunities. These include:
- Local nature clubs provide programs in environmental education
and nature interpretation in their communities. Several of the
clubs also offer scholarships to students in their local areas.
Check out the club in
your area for more details.
- Two BC Nature conferences
are held each year and a quarterly BCNature
magazine is published for members.
- Members are offered a variety of field camps in interesting natural environments.
- A very comprehensive report
on the complete BC Parks Interpretative Program.
- We are actively involved in the Regional Science Fairs and sponsor
regional prizes. For more on BC’s Science Fair program,
you can download
a booklet with all the details (2.1 MB, pdf) or check out
the BC Science
Fairs website.
- BC Nature provides a $1,000 Rene Savenye Scholarship to a post-secondary student enrolled in a program that contributes to awareness, appreciation and understanding of our natural environment.
